The past weekend I have resumed my coverage of local bands' gigs where on Friday I saw Dominoes and Nosnow/noalps play live at Poxx Bar while on Saturday there were Cable 35 and BNI at Remedy.  It was the first time that I swapped lenses several times during a shoot and as usual tried to do some justice to the atmosphere at the shows by capturing some crowd shots too. Total number of shots taken = over 430.  I shall be uploading a few in the next few days and see how they fare with the viewers.

I've been really enjoying my new 50mm F1.8D lens and it turned out to be exactly as I had read in the reviews - a steal at a hundred euros.  It's incredibly sharp and gives you control over depth of field ranging from as little as 1 cm wide open (close subject). I've been shooting some photos of my favourite subject (my 1 year 3 mths old son) in very low and difficult light (indoor) and have been impressed. I've had good response to my first postings from this lens and can hardly wait to try it out in good light.

I have continued in covering a number of local band gigs and shall be posting a few of my latest shots here soon.  Of particular interest was a Battle of the Bands Semi final between a band named Stoned Joker and BNI.  BNI came out eventual winners but it was very close.

If anyone out there has a close contact with Santa, please tell him that I've been good (ok I haven't but tell him so just the same :D) and I want a NIKON D3 for christmas.  If anyone wonders why just click here and be amazed www.stunningnikon.com/challeng…

I am getting particularly fond of the challenge of extremely low light stages of indoor gigs.  I recently was at the Lithomancy and X-Vandals gig at Remedy and on Friday was at the Ep launch of Cable 35 at Poxx supported by BNI.  Awesome gig it turned out to be and the crowd really added to the adenalin charged atmosphere as may be seen in some of the photos that were shot from the side of the stage facing the crowd, which i shall be posting in the next few days. Well done Cable 35! Hope to be at many other future launches and gigs.

The first ever Grand Prix de Malte was held last week in Valletta where several historic racing cars from pre war to late 70's and 80's competed in a 4 km street track. I was there to witness and capture moments from this event, which I will share in the next few days.
